About this game

Drop your simit into a column and line up four across, up or diagonally before the tea glasses do.

Simits and tea glasses face off on a blue tiled board: the piece you drop falls to the lowest free place of its column, and the first to line up four across, up or diagonally wins. Each of the six opponents plays in a style of their own; from Simit Seller Selim to Master Kemal, two wins at a table open the next one, and some tables put sugar cubes in your way, give you six seconds a move or ask for five in a row on an eight by seven board. In the forced-win puzzles you find the way to win in two or three moves against the best defence, and you can also take turns with a friend on one screen.

How to play

  1. Tap a column: your simit drops to the lowest free place in it, then it is your opponent's turn.
  2. Line up four simits across, up or diagonally to win; if your opponent lines up four tea glasses you lose, and a full board is a draw.
  3. Two wins at a table open the next opponent; who moves first alternates from match to match.
  4. A puzzle tells you how many moves you have: the opponent defends as well as it can, and winning within them opens the next puzzle.

Controls

  • Tap or click a column: drop your simit
  • Keyboard: the column number (1-7, 1-8 on the five-in-a-row board); arrows to move, Enter to drop
  • Esc or P: pause

Tips

  • The middle column is part of the most lines of four: drop your first simits there.
  • Make two threats at once: your opponent cannot block both.
  • Do not drop right under the gap that completes your opponent's line: they will land on top and win.

Questions and answers

Do puzzles and two-player matches count for the challenge?

No. The daily challenge and your win count only come from matches you win against the computer opponents. Puzzles move on in their own order, and two-player matches on one screen are just for fun.

What happens when the fast clock runs out?

At Uncle Rıza's table you have six seconds for every move. When the time runs out your simit drops into the leftmost open column, so keep an eye on the clock.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It is made for one hand in portrait mode: just tap a column with your thumb. On a computer you can use the mouse or the keyboard.
