About this game
Station soldiers on hex hills, roll the dice and topple your rival's centre.
In Seven Hills you fight over a hex map of Istanbul's hills: every turn you get soldiers for the land you hold, place them on your own hexes and attack a neighbour, both sides roll a die per soldier, the higher total wins, and your chance to win is written on the target. A defender on a hill rolls one more die and one in a castle two more; every village you hold brings an extra soldier each turn. In the seven-hill campaign from Sarayburnu to Kocamustafapaşa each hill opens the next and gives up to three stars, the stars open new banners, and you can face the rivals you beat in skirmishes on a new map every time. In the battle of the day the map and the dice are the same for everyone that day.

How to play
- At the start of your turn, place the soldiers you get one by one by tapping your own hexes; the Place all button sends the rest to your border hexes.
- Tap your hex with two or more soldiers, then a neighbour: you roll a die per soldier, the defender one per soldier of theirs; a higher total takes the hex, one soldier stays behind.
- A hill adds one die for the defender, a castle two and a centre one; every village brings one soldier a turn, and a hex holds 8 soldiers at most.
- Take your rival's centre to win and lose if yours falls; if the battle is not over after 30 rounds, whoever holds more hexes wins.
Controls
- Tap your own hex: place a soldier or pick it to attack
- Tap a neighbouring hex: attack; your chance to win is written on the target
- Button at the bottom: place the rest or end the turn
- Keyboard: arrows pick a hex, Enter taps it, E presses the button
- Esc or P: pause
Tips
- Read the chance on the target before you attack: above 70 percent usually works, below 45 percent wastes your soldiers.
- An attacking hex keeps only one soldier: do not empty the stack next to your centre all at once, or your rival walks in from there.
- Take the villages near you in the first rounds: every village is one more soldier every turn.
Questions and answers
Which battles count for the challenge?
Every battle you win against the computer: the campaign hills, skirmishes and the battle of the day. The battle of the day counts once a day; playing it again the same day is practice.
Are the dice fair?
Yes. Every die has six sides and every side the same chance; your rival cannot see the coming dice and sees the map only as you do. In the battle of the day the dice come in the same order for everyone that day.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It is made for one hand in portrait mode: just tap the hexes and the button at the bottom with your thumb. On a computer you can use the mouse or the keyboard.
