About this game

The centuries-old Turkish stone game: sow stones, fill your store, play the computer or a friend.

A walnut board, twelve pits, two stores and forty-eight glass stones. On your turn you lift the stones of one pit and sow them one by one; where the last stone lands changes everything. Play three computer opponents and unlock stronger ones as you win. Or send a friend an invite link, or take a quick match against someone playing right now: the server referees every move, so nobody can cheat.

How to play

  1. Tap a pit on your side: you lift its stones, drop one back into the same pit and sow the rest one by one. A single stone moves on to the next pit.
  2. If your last stone lands in your store, you move again.
  3. If your last stone makes an opponent's pit even, you take every stone in it. If your last stone lands in an empty pit of yours, you take it together with the stones of the pit across.
  4. The game ends when one side runs dry: whoever empties their pits first takes every stone left on the other side. Most stones in the store wins.

Controls

  • Tap or click a glowing pit: sow its stones
  • Keyboard: 1-6 to pick a pit; arrows to move, Enter to play
  • Online: send a preset reaction with Reactions, leave the match with Resign
  • Esc or P: pause

Tips

  • Play the pit that reaches your store exactly first: it earns you another move.
  • Watch your opponent's pits with an odd count: one of your stones makes them even.
  • Hoarding stones in one pit sets up a long sowing late in the game.

Questions and answers

How do I play a friend?

Choose Play a friend on the title screen and send the link it shows. The match starts when your friend opens it. No account is needed; guests can play too.

What does my opponent see about me?

Only your leaderboard nickname (8 characters). Your name, e-mail and account stay hidden. There is no chat, only preset reactions, and you can mute them.

Is there a move clock?

Online you have 30 seconds per move. If the time runs out the server plays a move for you; three in a row and the match is forfeited. There is no clock against the computer.
